new postcards have arrived, and studiomate porkchop offered to model them for the sketchblog. labeling, stamping, and spamming the world will occur this week, so if your fridge has been asking for a new postcard, your cork board has a 4"x6" open space, or you're an art director with a ridiculously huge illustration budget (i'm talking AIG bonus, big!), send me an email with your address and i'll send you a postcard.
porkchop has his postcard . . . will you?
special thanks to josh cochran for porkchop's hair and makeup.

ao and i have our apartment featured on design*sponge (thanks grace and anne). their sneak peek section presents the households of artists, designers, and even illustrators! we had a great time getting our place together, buffing, polishing, photographing, and only one knife fight (ao won, but i'm a quick healer). special thanks to stephanie for her styling assistance.

ao and i got up and headed to the voting booth this morning. for most elections, the line is at most five deep, and that's probably optimistic. this presidential election, while we didn't have a 3 hour wait or a line circling the block, there were a good 50 people waiting to get into the polling station and another 20 or so in line for our district, it was quite exciting, (scroll down to see my ballot) and don't forget . . . vote early! vote often!
on another election note, one of my professors from art school, d.b. dowd, is illustrating the election for the st louis beacon.

it's actually snowing out there. as snowy winters go, this one has been pretty unimpressive. i got to shovel a little, and well, that's about it. but hooray, snow! if you are wondering, that's not my bike, just the one that parked outside of the apt that's always there, rusting away, yet good for photos.
eben snow tagged photos, there aren't many.

ever hear the story of anna and the dremel? well, it's got lots of blood, pumpkins guts, and severed bits. grizzly, yet heartwarming.

jack-o-lanterns.

last wednesday i was in a bicycle on bicycle accident and my hands got broke up a bit (middle finger of my left hand broken, right hand fractured...boxer break), including the left (aka the drawing hand). updates may be a little slow for the time being as i heal and until i am able to work at the computer and drawing table more gooder.
now with photos!

now with x-ray! this the middle finger on my left hand, and no, that's not the direction my finger is supposed to be going.

further explanation: i was riding on the williamsburg bridge, along came two approaching bicycles, one of which passed the other without looking for oncoming traffic (me!), and when i yelled and attemped to slow/get out of the way, the passing cyclist in his surprise veered more into my path. eben had nowhere to go, but pavement.

it’s the final countdown to ‘man vs. beast’, ‘beast vs. man’, ‘alex vs. alex’, ‘afleet vs. eben’!
this saturday, be witness to the historical event, it's 'alex vs. alex', for the supremacy of philadelphia. now, some of you might be asking, isn't afleet alex a horse, and therefore, well, fast? and for that matter, isn't eben one of the slower of foot that we have ever seen? needless to say, won't this not even be a contest at all? my answer to you naysayers is...probably, but screw you for lacking in faith!

music to listen to while thinking about this epic event: final countdown.
gosh, i want to go experience history: belmont park and stakes race.
hey! i want to lose money: otb (off track betting).
