this drawing wasn't going so well, so i ended drawing some of the figure drawing regulars.

these aren't really potato people, but i hadn't posted anything in a while, and i kind of like these odd sketches. plus, i am trying out this new plan to post bigger images, less squinting for the user, less composing for me.

it was bound to happen...
Another example is also one of the most popular, Scrabulous, which is clearly a knockoff of the board game Scrabble. It is a wonder that Hasbro, which owns Scrabble in the United States and Canada, and Mattel, which holds the rights for the rest of the world, took so long to take action. But this week, they finally sent a letter to Facebook asking that Scrabulous be removed from the site.
and of course, the facebook masses aren't pleased.

hi!

mcdonalds has set its sights upon starbucks' business and installed coffee bars and baristas in nearly 14,000 locations. pundits suggest this a scheme that won't work. personally, i prefer local coffee shops and shun starbucks, so the likelihood of me going into a mcdonalds is not likely.

happy new year everyone. i have plans to do a year in review, list of favorite illustrations, goals for 2008, etc, etc. but of course, i instead plan to get bogged down, forget about it, or just plain not do it. thankfully, slate did a a year end round up of illustrations, and having done a bunch of work for them this year, i will just post that! (many thanks to slate art staff, writers, editors and fellow illustrators.)
