a nice big color illustration for the circuits section of the new york times. the piece is about setting up and adding to your basic cellphone to give it the capabilities of a smartphone, minus the keyboard of course. (personally, i feel that if you need to do all the stuff this article suggests, just pony up for the smartphone, but this is coming from a person who rarely even uses the crap cellphone he has.)

a special double-dip of eben illustrations in today's business section of the new york times. this one's about how to get your name taken off a variety of direct marketing lists, phone, mail, credit, etc. mind you, while donotcall.gov works pretty well, some of the other options (particularly for spam) are not nearly as fail-safe.

the times came up with quite the fun title for this article, basically, the ceo of overstock.com has involved himself in a flame war with journalist gary weiss and others. stories of cyber stalking, lying, ill-will, naked short selling (the hell if i know, i just draw the pictures, dan put a link to wikipedia about it) abound.
