there is an eben illustration running in the new york times today (login required). this one is about american business men and women immersing themselves in foreign countries in order to get their language skills up to spec. in case anyone is wondering, yes, i had a good time drawing a big knotted up tongue.

last night, ao and i went to the big art show in brooklyn, where there were "over 20 artists!", actually, it looked like there were a lot more than 20. the event was fun, the art was...uh, i really liked 2 of the artists, well, a few more, but here are the two notables: steph mulvihill dragged an enormous piece via subway all the way to brooklyn, and it was well worth it. the details in the stitching and painting are pure steph, if you don't know what that means, you really should find out. another artist who displayed some really beautiful work was john hungha and his fish paintings. also very intricate and detailed, these two artists really made the show for me.

well hotdamn, this is just ridiculous. petey miser has himself a damn fine new video for his song scent of a robot. my favorite part is when the robots start dancing...pete style. nice style with the phillies hat too.

the dilemma of friend versus candy. this sketch was done for the weekly illustation challenge posed by illustration friday. this week's theme is gluttony. i was trying to avoid drawing a really rotund person, a personal challenge which i failed miserably, however, i had fun doing it.

hotdamn, the eagles are finally playing in the superbowl after beating the falcons and earning a chance to face the patriots. wahoo! excuse me as i get all choked up.

a latenight drawing of my alarm clock. it's got fake woodgrain, and gets tv stations...pretty neat. easy to turn off in the morning by accident, sound quality is kind of iffey, and it's enormous...not so neat.
