marlow and sons

marlow used to have my favorite breakfast, a spectacular biscuit served up with butter and jam...big, flaky, crumbly, moist, delicious. however, the pastry chef who made those biscuits left, and this biscuit was not THAT biscuit.

finger lakes region, ny

this past weekend, ao and i headed across new york state to the finger lakes region for some camping, swimming, wine tasting, swimming, hiking and a bit of swimming. on excursions such as these, i always plan to draw a ton, but who am i kidding, it's vacation! i did, however, find a few mechanical objects to draw in and about all that nature.

i stopped by casey rubber stamps today and picked up a new stamp. if you haven't been, casey is an entertaining fellow, full of knowledge, and of course...stamps. it's one of my favorite new york stores. anyway, here is a sketchbook page with my new royal baking powder stamp.

i haven't been posting many of the 2 minutes quick sketches recently, but i liked the model's popeye arm in this post. also a rarity for figure drawing, it was an all male review.

time/date stamp
i unearthed some old art supplies and found a time/date stamp. an unoriginal, yet entertaining way to date my sketchbook. last known use? february 10th, 2004. it's been in a box for a while, and the year dial only goes up to 2006. happy old year!
