potato bugs

it's springtime and the world is busy a'movin'. roly poly bugs are a'movin', and thanks to a comment from cheryl, i will henceforth refer to them as potato bugs (and no, i never really liked the term pill bugs). get going lil' potato bug friends.

cafe royal

greenpoint, the fifth most livable neighborhood in new york (uh, what?) gets a new coffeeshop, cafe royal. it's a neat old space with tile floors, student style combo-desks, and a backyard. return visits will be had.

sva figure drawing workshop

i recently learned that the age old sva figure drawing workshop (40+ years!?) is shutting down. there will be other places, but this one has been part of my life in NYC, and will be missed. special thanks to peter heinemann for his dedication, organization, and yelling at the new and unsuspecting folks :)
